Requirements for the corona test and the ten-day quarantine. This applies to virtually everyone who wants to travel to Denmark, announces the Danish Ministry of Transport.
Danish police controlled the Öresund Bridge last year, when traffic between Sweden and Denmark was stopped. Now the application of quarantine is being introduced for those who enter the country.
The rules apply from Sunday and at least until February. The reason is that the country wants to limit the spread of the newer and more contagious mutations of the coronavirus. Mutations are believed to account for 80 percent of all new infections in March.
The new rules apply to all borders, but exceptions are made for those who live near the border and those traveling to and from Denmark.
For others, anyone who breaks the rules can be fined 3500 DKK. The quarantine can be shortened if you can show a negative test performed no earlier than four days after entering Denmark.
The measures, which are similar to those introduced in England in January, were made possible by a new team that was passed earlier this week.
In the press release, the government also gives a boot to Danes who went on vacation abroad during the winter.
– We are forced to state that, unfortunately, there are examples of people who have chosen to go abroad on vacation without thinking that the rest of society is struggling to keep infection rates low, says Transport Minister Benny Engelbrecht ( S).
