Denmark has been affected by the coronavirus ahead of the international match against Sweden.
Forward Robert Skov tested positive for COVID-19 and was sent home.
Eight other players, the league captain and the assistant league captain, have been quarantined.
On Wednesday night, Sweden will play an international training match against Denmark at the Parken in Copenhagen.
After Denmark tested their equipment at the meeting, it turned out that Hoffenheim player Robert Skov was infected with the coronavirus and had to leave the camp in Elsinore.
– We have followed UEFA’s protocols and rules for crown events, as we have done in previous international matches. When we received the positive tests for covid-19, Robert Skov and one of the staff members were briefed and isolated, after which they left the camp. Our assessment is that the infection did not occur in the collection, that we have discovered it early means that we can better handle the ongoing course. All other tests are negative and we will test again. After talking to the health authorities, we have decided on a precautionary measure, in which we isolate several people who have been in possible close contact with the two infected, says Danish national team doctor Morten Boesen.
Call new players
The management of the Danish team has chosen to quarantine the players Frederik Rönnow, Yussuf Poulsen, Rasmus Falk Jensen, Pione Sisto, Anders Dreyer, Erik Sviatchenko, Alexander Scholz and Martin Braithwaite, as well as the captain of the national team Kasper Hjulmand and to the assistant captain of the national team Morten Wieghorst.
– You think it’s chaos? Hahaha I just got the information. Apparently they will now have a press conference at 12.30, so we’ll see what they say there, says Swedish national team manager Stefan Pettersson.
How does it feel to play this game?
– Right now I can’t comment on anything. We will see what they say at the press conference.
Denmark will summon several new players to the collection of national teams.
The leadership of the national team on the bench against Sweden will consist of attacking coach Ebbe Sand, goalkeeping coach Lars Högh and analyst Mounir Akhiat.
Previously, seven Danish players were forced to retire, due to crown restrictions for resident players in the British leagues.
