Professional soldier Deniz Arda has been missing since November 13. The theory is that he would then do a long run in the Stockholm area.
– We still don’t have much to do in terms of surface area. Now it’s about trying to narrow the chances, says Therese Haugen in Missing Persons.
After a lot of effort this weekend, they are working to collect all the collected GPS data. At the same time, several volunteers are looking for current locations.
– On Wednesday, we will also have several search dogs to continue covering areas, says Therese Haugen.
Deniz’s boss: “Terrible uncertainty”
Colonel Patrik Gardesten is the head of the Amphibious Regiment, to which Deniz Arda belongs. He says in a statement that the Armed Forces have now set aside all free time to look for a colleague.
– The strong community and determination that exists to find Deniz, both within the organization and among the general public and various voluntary organizations, is extremely interesting and moving, he says and continues:
– The search continues through police officers, NGOs, friends and colleagues. Our thoughts go directly to Deniz’s family and close relatives who are currently forced to live in terrible uncertainty about what may have happened.
Police cooperate with various authorities
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into the kidnapping and are working in various ways to arrest Deniz Arda.
– One of the tasks is to look at the search areas and have a dialogue with the missing persons, says Åsa Vallentin, press spokesperson for the Stockholm Police.
Säpo or should help in the investigation?
– It is part of the preliminary investigation, how we work and with whom we collaborate. But I can confirm that we cooperate with several different authorities.
