A man in his 25s has died following a police operation in Gothenburg, something Göteborgs-Posten was the first to report. Police had been alerted to an apartment where several people were suspected of using drugs on Saturday night. During the search of the house, the man suddenly ran to the balcony, located on the fifth floor, and went down to the fourth floor.
– There it seems to have fallen headlong to the ground. Police ran downstairs and CPR began before the ambulance arrived. He was later pronounced dead in hospital, says Hans Jörgen Ostler of the police in the western region.
Police say marijuana was smoked in the apartment, but the attack was not of such a nature that it should have caused the suspect’s reaction, according to Ostler.
– He must have panicked for some reason. It is a very tragic accident.
The incident will be investigated by the internal police investigator, to investigate if the patrol acted in any way incorrectly during the operation.
