Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo rages against Formula 1.
As drivers prepared to continue, footage of Romain Grosjean’s terrible crash in Bahrain was shown.
– I am disappointed and disgusted by Formula 1, Ricciardo tells Autosport.
It was unpleasant images when Romain Grosjean crashed during the first lap of the competition.
The Frenchman’s car split into two parts, it started to burn a lot and the race was immediately stopped. When the flames erupted from the car, Grosjean got out of the vehicle and was taken to hospital with minor burns.
“Just a lot of fire”
The remaining drivers returned to the depot and had to wait for the race to resume. But while he waited, the accident appeared several times on television screens.
– The way the Grosjean accident was shown over and over was completely disrespectful to his family and ours, says Daniel Ricciardo, who finished seventh.
– We will compete in an hour and every time we watch television there is a lot of fire and his car is divided in half, he continues.
“Playing with emotions”
The Australian says he’s surprised that more drivers don’t know him.
– It was as if it were entertainment and they played with all our emotions. I think it’s pretty disgusting, he says.
