The national bomb squad moved to Västra Kattarpsvägen in Rosengård, where a large area was cordoned off after a suspected dangerous object was found. The object was shot down with the help of a robot bomb. According to the external commander of the police, the object, a box, appears to have been harmless.
– We received the case at 20:24, says Sara Andersson, Skåne Police Press Spokesperson.
The Västra Kattarpsvägen barrier stretched from Hårds väg to Bennets väg. Currently, the police do not have information to reveal on what type of object the operation is applied or who sounded the alarm.
According to the Sydsvenskan photographer at the scene, the object was next to two cars parked along the street. A robot bomb was dispatched that first shot the object and then took it onto the road. Judging from the photographs of the place, it was a kind of cardboard or box.
According to the external commander of the police, Per Svensson, individuals called a passing police patrol and invited it to enter. The patrol, in turn, decided to call in the police bomb squad.
Per Svensson’s field assessment states that the object was not dangerous.
At 11 p.m., the police announced that the roadblocks would be lifted.
Last week, the police were alerted three times in two days to suspected dangerous objects in Rosengård.
