“Coronavirus” tops the list of most popular searches this year on Google.
Related topics like “Why is the coronavirus dangerous?”, “What is a public gathering?” and “Why does everyone buy toilet paper?” You can find all the questions that the Swedes applied during the year.
Interest in hand sanitizing has made hand alcohol to the top of the list of most wanted recipes.
During the year, Swedes digged deeper and searched for answers to learn more about what coronavirus is, says Andrea Lewis Åkerman, communications manager for Google Sweden, in a press release.
The American choice ranks second among the most popular searches this year. Many have been curious about the new president of the United States, Joe Biden.

During the year, Black Lives Matter, Blackout Tuesday, and George Floyd were also some of the top searches in Sweden.
In the same category, we also see Swedish events such as the Estonian disaster and the Palme assassination, which have become hot search topics.
The Netflix series Love and Anarchy tops the list of entertainment that Swedes were looking for.
Second is the game Between us.
The popular TikTok app has also caught up with the Swedish search trends in terms of the questions we asked ourselves, even when it comes to slang words that are often used in popular videos.
With more people spending more time at home, cake recipes have also dominated the food and beverage category this year. After hand alcohol, recipes for blueberry pie and sourdough bread are at the top.
– It has been a different year, which for many has meant more time than ever at home. In addition to the television programs and the new seasons of series to which we have sat on benches, most of them Swedish, pastry recipes have been sought more than usual, says Andrea Lewis Åkerman.
