Lost the lead 2-0.
So the Junior Crowns get criticized.
– They got into shit, says Erik Granqvist on TV6.
Despite a good start and an early 2-0 lead after every class goal from Lucas Raymond and Elmer Söderblom, it was a Swedish defeat in the JVM quarter against Finland.
The little lion took over the game completely in the second and third periods and managed to change to 3-2 after goals from Henri Nikkanen, Anton Lundell and Roni Hirvonen.
“In a panic”
Subsequently, Swedish players receive criticism for their play.
– I’m very disappointed. What you want to see from a team in management is that you dare to be aggressive, you dare to play. Now it’s a lot of “take responsibility, take responsibility.” They get into shit. It is extremely difficult to see and of course even worse for the guys who experience it on the ice. There will be a kind of panic in the game. So you need leaders and players to calm everything down, and you didn’t have that, says expert Erik Granqvist on TV6.
His expert colleague Rickard Wallin was critical already after the second period where Finland completely dominated the game.
– It’s a bad attitude. It’s a shame the body language to the end, he said.
“Cost us”
Afterwards, the players were disappointed.
– We started the game very well. In the second period, the Finns came out tough and we became too soft in the game. We did not reach the same level as in the first period and the tournament cost us, says Arvid Costmar in the subsequent press conference.
The team captain, Philip Broberg, was crying when he was interviewed on TV6.
– It’s very bitter, he said.
