“The situation is very serious and we must ensure that the care has the necessary personnel to meet the needs. It is a decision that nobody wants to make, but we have to do it,” says Emilie Orring (M), president of the regional board. , in a press release.

This was followed by decisions of the Swedish municipal and regional management boards (SKR) and Sobona (employers’ organization of municipal companies).

“The Uppsala region has exhausted all possibilities to secure staffing that exist under the regular collective agreement. Therefore, we have decided to activate the crisis agreement”, says Joakim Larsson, chairman of the negotiating delegation at SKR and on Sobona’s association board, according to a press release.

To date, activation of crisis agreements has been previously granted in the following regions: Stockholm, Västra Götaland, Skåne and Gävleborg.
