It is not yet clear how the infection got into the school’s animal barn, but according to Anders Westlund, the virus should not infect humans.
– We don’t do much about it, but the cows will recover on their own. The infection may have come with a visitor or with the feed, it is difficult to tell. We have also suffered from corona among cows in the past.

Reassuring message
Since symptoms were discovered among the cows, the barn has been isolated, but has now reopened. However, be careful not to wear the same clothes and shoes between different herds of animals.
How can you be sure that it is not a mutated form of coronavirus, which was discovered in mink in Denmark?
– We have taken samples and sent them. SVA (Statens veterinärmedicinska anstalt) has told us that this is bovine coronavirus, so we are sure of that. That it was only a crown was a reassuring message for us, the crown among the cows is not that unusual.
Covid infection at school
On Wednesday, five students and an employee were confirmed positive for COVID-19 at Lillerudsgymnasiet. To avoid a major outbreak, the school decided on Thursday to switch to distance learning for two weeks.
The infection tracing shows that the school had some spread of the infection. Distance learning will last at least weeks 47 and 48.
