Charley Pride is dead.

The country star died in complications as a result of COVID-19, writes Entertainment Tonight.

He turned 86 years old.

American singer Charley’s pride took place in the country music hall of fame in 2000, then as the first black member, ET writes. He received three Grammy Awards.

His representative says in a press release that he died in Dallas, and in complications as a result of Covid-19.

The actor and the artist Dolly parton74-year-old writes about her grief after posting on Twitter:

“I am so devastated that one of my closest and oldest friends, Charley Pride, passed away. It is even worse to know that he passed away in covid-19. What a horrible, horrible virus. Charley, we will always love you. Rest in peace. My love and my thoughts go out to your family and your fans. ”

Turned 86

Charley Pride was known for songs like “Kiss an angel good mornin ‘”, “Is anybody goin’ to San Antone” and “Mountain of love”.

She last performed on November 11, when she sang “Kiss an angel good mornin ‘” with artist Jimmie Allen at the CMA Awards Country Gala.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter, writes Variety.

Charley Pride turned 86 years old.
