Tourists have flocked to Sälen since the slopes opened.
Several employees have now been isolated after testing positive for corona.
“Skistar has received information that some Sälen employees have tested positive for covid-19”they write in a press release.
– Since there are staff, up to four people can live in the same accommodation, and if one of them shows symptoms, the whole group can stay at home, says Jonas Bauer, destination manager at Skistar in Sälen, to DT.
Four ski jumps have been closed due to illness, the newspaper writes.
Region Dalarna infection control physician Anders Lindblom says these are “isolated cases.”
– We see smaller cluster shoots and we will see it in Sälen too when there are so many people there. And we have seen it before in the municipality of Malung-Sälen.
According to information from SVT Dalarna, about 30 people have been isolated.
Residing in Sälen “Queues for Systembolaget”
Entire houses are expected to have to be insulated if one of the temps falls ill, as many live together that way, according to the infection control doctor.
– This is something we have discussed with Skistar before, how to act in cases like this, says Anders Lindblom.
He says it has not been possible to see that Sälen visitors have increased the burden of coronary care and does not want to speculate on how the infection may have entered.
– The infection can come from anywhere in Sweden.
Karin Bäck from Sälen has previously said how she sees restrictions are not being followed in the city. She says tourists enter the urban area where there is congestion and lines for shops.
– They come here to town and queue for Systembolaget. I’ve never seen my husband. No distance restrictions are followed. It works very badly, he told Expressen.
