According to various reports from Expressen, the seasonal flu vaccine has been completely exhausted in several health centers in Stockholm.
A doctor working at a health facility tells Expressen that the vaccine ran out after only three weeks. He believes that most of the doses of the vaccine were for private actors who are not required to vaccinate people at risk.
– It’s sickly mismanaged by the region.
He believes it is remarkable that the Stockholm Region did not buy vaccines so it is sufficient for risk groups, due to the corona pandemic.
– There are people who can get seriously ill from this. Every avoidable hospitalization is important right now, when it’s still full of covid patients.
“The weakest groups do not have access to the vaccine”
The vaccine should be free for people in the risk group, but this presupposes that it is taken in a health center that has an agreement with the region.
– Since it has ended up on channels in the region, only private actors such as Vaccindirekt, Svea vaccin, etc. are referenced. That is a bit of a scandal: that the region has not ensured that the weakest groups have access to the vaccine.
A private gamer writes on his website that the free trials are over, but that he can buy a flu shot for SEK 300.
Expressen has requested the Stockholm Region, which will return with a comment.
