Now it is finished in parks for the inhabitants of Copenhagen.

As the number of corona cases among young people increases, police are now banned from staying in various places in Nørrebro, Danish media report.

– We cannot accept large groups meeting, says Anne Tønnes of the Copenhagen Police.

The ban applies to three parks in the district where young people often gather for fun. This applies from Thursday night to Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

In the Copenhagen area, rising infection rates have been reported, and several of those confirmed infected are between the ages of 20 and 29, DR writes.

Denmark currently has the most new cases in the Nordic countries in terms of population. In the capital area, rising infection rates have been reported, and several of those confirmed infected are between 20 and 29 years old, DR writes.

– Unfortunately, the number of infections is going in the wrong direction and, of course, we must bear the consequences. We cannot accept larger groups coming together at a time when we have to go the extra mile to reduce infection in Copenhagen, says Anne Tønnes of the Copenhagen Police.

SEK 3,500 fine

Anyone who cannot refrain from partying in any of the designated parks over the weekend risks a fine of DKK 2,500, corresponding to approximately SEK 3,500.

– Of course, we will have a dialogue with citizens and we will report on the ban. But if you don’t listen, you will see a police officer who is consistent and upholds the residence ban, says Anne Tønnes.

Bars close at midnight

It is not only in the capital where stricter crown restrictions have been introduced. Residents of 16 municipalities in Greater Copenhagen and Odense are also now seeing their opportunities for fun reduced due to the spread of the virus.

In 18 municipalities, it ends in bars at midnight. In addition, the ban on gathering in crowds is tightened. Previously, groups of a maximum of 100 people were allowed, but now the limit has been lowered to 50 people.

– We are worried? Yes, we are. Is development going in the wrong direction? If it does. Can we put this in order? Yes, we can, Denmark’s Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said earlier this week.
