The president is now on his second night at his home in the White House after being hospitalized for covid-19.
But the chaos of infection around him is growing.
Donald Trump’s top adviser, Stephen Miller, tested positive. He is the 34th person around Trump to have been confirmed infected, Politico reports.
The ceremony surrounding Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court has been singled out as a widely publicized event, where several people related to the president fell ill.
These are people from the president’s inner circle, including campaign manager Bill Stepien, personal assistant Nick Luna, and former adviser Kellyanne Conway.
Works in the map room – stay away is encouraged
The administration has not actively monitored the infection after the nomination ceremony, nor has it wanted to give a figure on how many in the White House have tested positive.
Management has received strong criticism from employees for not providing enough information on the virus infection chains, and it was only on Sunday that they called in to do the task.
Now the White House is much more desolate than usual.
Trump himself works from the map room at the bottom of the White House, and not in the Oval Room, writes The Guardian.
Among other things, there are about a hundred people who work in cleaning and other services. They have now received detailed instructions on how to behave in the vicinity of the president, reports the New York Times.
They can only go up to the Trump family’s house on the second floor if they are asked to do so. Personnel who must be around Trump should wear protective equipment in the form of a mask, eye protection, gloves, and a longer yellow protective suit.
