Risk pool compensation widens, government and C & L parties announce under new deal, Swedish radio Ekot reports.
This means that people who belong to a risk group can count on continuous financial support from the state until their vaccination is completed, according to the Minister of Social Security, Ardalan Shekarabi (S).
– For our part, it is important to give this message to people in risk groups: we will not eliminate these benefits until we have solved the problem of vaccination for those groups, he tells Ekot.
Exactly how the extension and settlement of this compensation will be in practice, the January parties are still not entirely clear and are something that politicians will return to.
The government and C&L announcement follows concerns that people with risk group compensation had when the current compensation would have been valid until the last month of April.
According to the Swedish Social Security Agency, compensation applies to those in risk groups who are at risk of becoming seriously ill from covid-19 and therefore forced to stay home with a loss of income such as result. This applies to employees, part-time workers, and the self-employed.
You are entitled to compensation per risk group if:
• you have a job but a medical condition that puts you at risk of becoming seriously ill from covid-19.
• lacks the opportunity to work from home. It is also required that the employer cannot offer other work tasks in the context of employment, or that it is not otherwise possible to adapt the work situation to prevent the spread of infection in the workplace.
• You can present a medical certificate proving that you belong to one of the risk groups.
