Upset in the Premier League after a proposal from Liverpool and Man United, Marcus Rashford celebrated an honorary title in specially made shoes and the successful Brentford player is about to land in West Ham.

Here are today’s soccer headlines.

TODAY’S SNACKIS

A civil war, as the British media call it, has broken out in the Premier League following a restructuring proposal that is behind Liverpool and Manchester United.

So what does “Project Big Picture” mean? In short, it will primarily benefit the biggest clubs, the Big Six. The project, developed by Liverpool and United owners John Henry and Joel Glazer respectively, includes changes such as:

Loses Premier League from 20 to 18 teams.

Closure of the League Cup and Community Shield.

A “gift” of 100 million pounds to the FA (English Association).

14 clubs receive majority support, including a lot of additional influence for the Big Six (Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham), as well as Everton, West Ham and Southampton.

Promotion playoff between the team in 16th place in the Premier League and third, fourth and fifth in the Championship.

Postponement of the season and more training matches.

No parachute payments.

25 percent of the Premier League’s annual revenue goes to the EFL (organization of the league under PL).

The proposal is supported by EFL President Rick Parry, who believes it reduces the gaps between the top league and the lower divisions. The Premier League, for its part, is outraged by Parry’s team choice, which according to one source “could hurt the whole sport.”

TODAY’S SHOES

Marcus Rashford scored the tying goal in England’s victory over Belgium (2-1). The striker, who was recently awarded the honorary title of MBE (Member of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth, took the penalty at the end of the first half. Standing, she wore a pair of Nike sneakers with the text “I am the future of” (I am the future of …) followed by messages from 40 of the children who benefited from Rashford’s food stamp campaign during the summer .

TODAY’S CONCERN

Although Harry Kane did not start the meeting with Belgium, he jumped with half an hour to go. This despite the fact that Gareth Southgate had announced that the forward suffers from “muscle fatigue”. The decision is not to the liking of Tottenham and especially of coach José Mourinho who has clearly indicated that his gold nugget must rest. When asked if Kane will play in the last game against Denmark, Southgate says the following: “Considering how it was tonight, I can probably get more minutes.”

Today’s gossip

The atmosphere in the home team’s dressing room at Old Trafford this week was anything but good. At the break from Manchester United’s humiliating loss to Tottenham, Bruno Fernandes in particular should have raised his voice. A source told the Sunday Mirror that the Portuguese was clearly angry and scolded his teammates for notes. He is also said to have questioned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plan, saying “it was a completely wrong choice of tactic.”

FOOL OF THE DAY

Said Benrahma is close to a transfer to West Ham. The player, who has been successful at Brentford in recent seasons, comes to the club for a sum of 30 million pounds (about 340 million crowns) according to The Athletic.
