At Upplands Väsby, the corona vaccination is going well.
So much so that social manager Magnus Lublin, 57, and another manager chose to take the initiative in order of priority.
– I think it comes to people’s attention that someone who is a manager and has the opportunity to work remotely has already been vaccinated, says Anna Rosenkvist, Kommunal negotiator at Upplands Väsby.
In the first phase of ongoing vaccination, priority should be given to people in special homes for the elderly or home care, staff and relatives of these groups.
In Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, all these groups must have received vaccines.
– About 98 percent of our nursing home residents have said yes and received vaccinations, and up to 80 percent of staff have said yes and received vaccinations. We have had a very high utilization rate, says Magnus Lublin, social manager at Upplands Väsby.
I can not answer
On Tuesday, the social director himself will receive his second dose of vaccine, he tells Aftonbladet. He and another colleague in management should have been asked.
How did that opportunity arise?
– I can not answer anything clear to that, except that I received an offer and decided to accept. I didn’t ask to go first.
A municipal employee, who also lives in Upplands Väsby, believes that the managers’ actions are wrong.
– I think it’s a very bad style. It’s always the ones at the top who can join the queue on short notice, rather than having a default backup list, says the employee.

As a municipal employee, you have not been offered the vaccination and you think it is strange that other municipal employees cannot be given higher priority.
– How often do managers meet older people or people at risk? But it is only to read in the newspapers that they slide on before and benefit. But you will not be surprised.
Magnus Lublin claims that both he and his senior colleague belong to the risk group.
– I have diabetes, heart problems and high blood pressure, he says.
According to the plan of the Public Health Agency, the 57-year-old social director would belong to phase 3, in which people between 18 and 59 years old with diseases or conditions that imply an increased risk should be vaccinated.
– I don’t know what phase it would end in. My assessment is also based on the fact that everyone who is in phase 1 should have received or offered a vaccine, and that we really could offer everyone.
The school staff is still waiting
Anna Rosenkvist, a negotiator for the Kommunal union in Upplands Väsby, works at the school.
– We have staff in preschool and school who have asked if they will be given priority, but then the municipality has said that they are based on the recommendations of the Public Health Agency, he says.
Anna Rosenkvist believes that managers’ decision to get vaccinated may get the attention of other city employees.
– The fact that you do not choose to prioritize certain groups in the municipality has a signal value and does not show that the municipality wants to be the role model as an employer that you say where you are, he says.
Aftonbladet ran unsuccessfully for Regina Kevius, municipal director at Upplands Väsby.
