Christina Svanström has worked as an auxiliary nurse in private home care for 25 years, the last year at Varberg.

For many years, it has had a tradition of making personalized gingerbread cookies for each patient.

Buy ready-made gingerbread cookies and sprinkle your heart’s desire at home. This year it took eight hours to prepare 160 gingerbread cookies with frosting and pretty ribbons to hang them.

Christina Svanström spends a lot of time sprinkling the names of all the recipients of care. It’s important to have a perfect crisis, he says.

– Some of the customers are moved to tears. Especially now that they are so isolated. That they feel someone has taken the time to spray paint their name. Colleagues who help distribute the gingerbread to customers also say how happy everyone is, says Christina Svanström, who has also been interviewed by Hallands Nyheter.

She says she started with her horse-named gingerbread cookies at her home riding club in Fagersta.

Colleagues at the private home care company in Varberg also get their own personal gingerbread heart from Christina.

Then he continued with friends and acquaintances and the habit that he took when he started working in the home care service.

– Half is to have good spirits, that they have squeezed me. It should be very firm. Then I take a normal plastic bag and cut the smallest hole in the world.

Christina Svanström loves to spice up gingerbread names and make the elderly happy.

– Some eat their gingerbread, but most hang them up.

If a patient is alone and can have a cat, the cat also receives its own gingerbread.
