Tombs are being prepared for possible crown sacrifices in Chile’s capital Santiago.

Several thousand graves are being prepared in the Chilean capital of Santiago after a sharp rise in coronavirus cases, authorities say.

Santiago was quarantined on Wednesday after the number of infected crowns in the country increased by 2,600 people per day. On Thursday, many new infected people were again reported. Previously, there were between 350 and 500 new cases per day.

“We realize that this is a historic moment and that we may need more graves, because we see what is happening in other countries,” says cemetery manager Rashid Saud.

Some 2,000 graves are being prepared. So far, almost 370 people infected with the crown have died in the country.

– We have to compare it with other countries that have used mass graves, with countries that have had dead people on the streets and rotting corpses in trucks. That’s what we want to avoid and hope we don’t have to use them, Saud says of the graves that are now being prepared.

According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 37,000 cases of coronary infection have been reported in Chile.
