Djurgårdaren Mia Jalkerud, 31, goes to Norwegian Arna-Björnar after the club offered something she missed:
Baby sister.
– No one here has been interested in making this kind of deal, Jalkerud tells SVT.
For ten years, Mia Jalkerud has been a trusted scorer for Djurgården. But after a hiatus to be on maternity leave last year, the 31-year-old was no longer part of the club’s plans.
– I can’t be under a coach who doesn’t love me. It’s not developing nor is it fun at all, he tells SVT.
“I never had millions in salary”
It is reasonable that several Swedish teams want to link with the forward, but the new management of Jalkerud’s club is Norway’s Arna-Björnar. There he goes with his partner Gudbjörg Gunnarsdottir, who is a goalkeeper, after the couple was offered a complete solution that included childcare.
– Really all the credit to them for solving it for us, it’s powerful. I really hope we can give back, Jalkerud tells SVT and continues:
– If you get good conditions in other respects, it is possible to play and have children. There, many clubs have something to work with. There is a person who will help us for an hour a day. We have never had a millionaire salary, but this is what we wanted to distribute. Djurgården couldn’t find us there.
