Charlie Woods is congratulated by Daddy Tiger after a low putt.
That they have a similar swing leaked earlier this week.
But when Tiger Woods and his son Charlie made their PNC Championship debut, it became clear that they have more in common than that.
The eleven-year-old boy impressed everyone, especially with an incredible eagle.
The PNC Championship is decided among the top winners in pairs with family members.
When it became clear that Tiger Woods was making his debut with his eleven-year-old son Charlie, the main issue was done.
And the duo did not disappoint.
Made an eagle
Images of his identical swing were uploaded via cable earlier this week, but in their competition debut together, they were able to see much more of Charlie Wood’s talent and the similarities he has to his father.
Tributes flowed throughout the competition, especially when the eleven-year-old hit a 160-meter iron five, lay down perfectly on the green and dropped the short putt for an eagle on a pair of five holes.
Yes, the eagle was actually Charlie’s when he had to do all three in that hole.
Charlie Woods, whose mother is Swedish Elin Nordegren, has won a few youth competitions but never had so many cameras pointed at her. Tiger is aware that he is as competitive as his father, but that the most important thing is that the son has fun.
– It’s really fun for me to see that you enjoy it, enjoy the opportunity to be here. It is competitive, yes. It’s our whole family, he says on the NBC Sports broadcast.
Sörenstam with his father
In the two-day competition in Orlando, Swedish legend Annika Sörenstam is also paired with her father, just like last year.
Charlie’s entry into PNC has made his nine-year-old son Will begin to dream of joining soon. Before the competition, he was photographed with Charlie and Tiger.
– When it was known that Charlie would play, Will looked at me and I said “Yes. Maybe in a few years.” I told him to start training because my dad is 79, Sörenstam said according to golfdigest.com.
However, there doesn’t appear to be a win for Team Woods or Team Sörenstam in the family event.
