The great Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech thanked himself between the posts a year and a half ago. Now take the gloves and head protection back. Cech is very relevant for a temporary entry into Chelsea’s reserve team.

Pavel Pillar, spokesman for the agency to which Cech is linked, assures that the Czech will play against Tottenham on Monday “as long as nothing unforeseen happens.”
In a statement, Cech announces:
“I am an emergency solution, but I am ready.
The 38-year-old Cech joined the Chelsea team last fall, mainly as a precautionary measure in view of the pandemic, reports AFP. Since May 2019 he has been the club’s technical director.
Their last competitive match was the Europa League final in May 2019, for Arsenal against Chelsea in Baku. Since then, he has been physically fit, among other things, by playing ice hockey, as a goalkeeper, for Guildford Phoenix.
The reason why he now has to enter the reserve team is that Karlo Ziger is in covid-19 quarantine and Finn Lucas Bergström had to enter the U18 team last Saturday.
“We don’t want to risk injury by letting him play two games in 48 hours,” writes Cech.
