IFK Gothenburg finished twelfth in the Allsvenskan this year and is now rebuilding for next season.
GT was able to say Monday that two of the high names on the club’s wish list are David Moberg Karlsson, 26, and Nicklas Bärkroth, 28, two players who would strengthen the offense.
But now Blåvitt is about to get a defensive signing.
According to information from GT, Carl Johansson is just details of a transfer to IFK Gothenburg. Today he is in Kamratgården to complete the transition.
If all goes according to plan, he will soon be introduced as a Blåvitt player.
Close to moving to Gothenburg
The midfielder was Falkenberg’s most important player this year and one of the best midfielders in the Allsvenskan. He also had to take over the team captain playoff in the injury absence of Tibor Brink Joza.
But now the contract expires.
Now that the FFF has left the Allsvenskan, Johansson has attracted the interest of bigger clubs and, based on what GT experiences, all points to a move to Gothenburg for the 26-year-old who played in Helsingborg between 2009 and 2018.
Falkenberg: “Not entirely unprepared”
Falkenberg doesn’t have high hopes of keeping his successful back.
– We are pretty sure he is looking beyond when we leave the Allsvenskan. We are not fully prepared for that, says FFF sporting director Håkan Nilsson.
Do you know where it will end?
– I’m not going to tell you that. In that case, Calle and that club must respond.
Carl Johansson scored three goals in 29 games for Falkenberg at the Allsvenskan this year.
GT has contacted Carl Johansson and his agent for comment.
