A car for various unknown reasons struck several pedestrians on a sidewalk in London, British media report. The incident took place in Hackney.
Several people were injured. According to the British police, there is currently no indication of a terrorist motive.
The incident took place at 8.30 am on Friday. Footage from the scene shows the car drifting down the sidewalk and then colliding with a tree.
Hackney District Police write on Twitter:
“It was reported that a vehicle got on a sidewalk and struck several pedestrians. At this initial stage, incidents are treated as not related to terrorism.
