During the first closure in the UK, all Burger King and McDonald’s restaurants were forced to close. They didn’t open until July.
“McDonald’s Order” now begins a message from Buger King on Twitter that is widely praised in the UK.
“We never think”
As the country moves toward its second closure, restaurants will face severe restrictions: no alcoholic beverages or seats are sold.
And at least it appears Burger King wants to give the impression that tough demands hit its competitors the hardest.
“We never thought we would ask you to do this, but thousands of restaurant employees really need your help right now,” Burger King wrote in its ad.
So if you want to help, indulge yourself with a goal through home delivery, take-out, or car service. A Whopper is always the best, but ordering a Bic Mac is not a bad idea. “
On social media, thousands are now speculating on what the real purpose of the ad is. A genuine move to help your competitors, or some kind of PR coup.
And of course there are two camps: the ad has been described as “elegant” and “an obvious way to increase your goodwill.”
