Brynäs has not played a SHL game since December 5, since the corona infection broke out in the team. Yesterday it was announced that coach Peter Andersson had fallen ill with covid-19 and would miss Tuesday’s game against Leksand.

– He’s not feeling good at the moment, he’s really bad, assistant coach Viktor Stråhle told Gefle Dagblad.

Now it is clear that the entire team will be forced to abstain from the games; the match will not end tonight, but it will be postponed.

Thursday’s game will also move

According to the Aftonbladet newspaper, which was the first to report on the postponed match, the Leksand players got the message when they were about to get on the bus against Gävle.

At the same time, it is announced that Thursday’s meeting between HV71 and Brynäs will also move forward.

– Brynäs has been tested continuously and after previous tests were negative, the infection has been re-identified. In consultation with medical teams and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, we will postpone Tuesday and Thursday matches, says SHL sports director Johan Hemlin.
