A day later, Brynäs goalkeeper Samuel Ersson conceded three goals in five minutes and had to leave the ice when Brynäs fell.
– Not approved when we start like we do, says Brynäs captain Simon Bertilsson.
Brynäs entered the SHL game on Tuesday with two consecutive defeats, and in the meeting with Örebro they had a nightmare start.
Already after 47 seconds, Örebro took the lead thanks to Christopher Mastomäki. The home team was later able to extend to 2-0, after a video review, when Brynäs goalkeeper Samuel Ersson launched the return and Ludvig Rensfeldt was able to push the extension.
“Too bad”
17 seconds later, it was over for Ersson, 21, who was selected to Tre Kronor’s team for the Karjala Tournament on Monday, when Linus Öberg sent a shot of opportunity from the right technical circle that looked inward.
Ersson had to come off the ice and was replaced by fellow goalkeeper Viktor Andrén, when the game did not even reach five minutes.
– Is very bad. I don’t know what we’re doing, Brynäs captain Simon Bertilsson said at C More after the first period.
It was even more joyous for Örebro’s Christopher Mastomäki, who scored his first goal in just over a year.
– I think I lost 3,400 kilos of weight. That monkey had grown up, so it was good to get rid of it, says the shooter.
“Everyone should look in the mirror”
Örebro’s early 3-0 lead was highlighted in the match, meaning that Örebro’s Jonas Arntzen, 22, had to keep his first zero in the SHL.
For Brynäs, it was the team’s third consecutive loss.
– It is not approved when we start as we do. We’re up, but it’s still not right when we let three in fast. Everyone should look in the mirror and think if we did the best we could. I don’t think many did, Bertilsson says after the game.
