A murder of more than seven years in Tjörn may be on the way to its solution.

After a long work, the group of unsolved cases of the police has found a suspect, reports P4 Väst.

It was in February 2013 that a driver was found dead after a truck fire at Myggenäs in Tjörn.

Police have worked on the theory that someone killed the man to steal his cargo, worth more than 200,000 Swedish crowns, and then set the truck on fire to hide the crime.

This summer, international legal aid, among other things, managed to link a 27-year-old man to the crime.

– It is not easy to pursue a seven-year case, but my strong opinion is that he should come here and that we should try it in court, Chief Prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge tells P4.

The man is suspected of assaulting the driver along with one or more other people. However, as he is currently in prison in another European country, it is unclear whether he will be extradited to Sweden.

– Then it will depend on that country if they want to extradite the person while he is serving his sentence or not. It’s very unusual and it’s my first time meeting it, says Daniel Edsbagge to P4 Väst.
