Björklöven’s new nightmare after suspicions of match fixing

In Monday’s match against Mora, Björklöven lost a 3-0 lead and ultimately lost 8-4.

Björklöven’s career directly led to suspicions of match-fixing due to a remarkable development of the odds and several betting companies stopped the possibility of betting on the match.

Later in the week, however, both the police and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association dropped their investigations because the strange odds movements were due to a bug at Bet365 and Björklöven will now receive AIK at home on Friday night.

You do it after a turbulent week.

Kenttä: “Open with how the players feel”

– You could write a book on emotions and the roller coaster this week, says sports director Per Kenttä to C More before the game.

He continues:

– But now we have to focus on hockey. It is mainly for me and for the players. We have been very open about how the players feel during this period. We have had conversations and spoken with those who have taken it the wrong way. I hope we can put this behind us.

Kenttä says several players have been hit hard by the suspicions against the team.

– We have players who have felt very bad. There is nothing to knit under a chair. It is normal when they accuse you of such serious crimes when you are innocent.

Nightmare Seconds for Björklöven

Björklöven started the match against AIK brilliantly and pushed for a goal lead. But despite the dominance, it was the visiting team that took the lead. Filip Windlert scored AIK’s first goal in the 13th minute and only eleven seconds later the team led 2-0, an advantage they had with them at the first period break.

In the second period, Björklöven came back and tied at 2-2, but AIK had the last word in the period when Max Lindholm scored 2-3 from close range.

– They get to score a little goals here and there. Do they even have nine shots? I do not understand anything. I’m going crazy, says Fredric Andersson, Björklöven’s team captain, at C More at the second break of the period.

AIK finally won the match 4-3 after Nicklas Heinerö became a hero in the final period.
