GOTHENBURG. With the entry of Roland Nilsson, there was a different approach on defense.
Mattias Bjärsmyr, 34, wants IFK Gothenburg to build on the offense, preferably with a close friend.
– I hope there is a good chance that Mackan will come home, he says.

A convincing 4-0 away win against Östersund secured the Swedish contract for IFK Gothenburg.
This after an autumn in which Blåvitt with Roland Nilsson during ten Allsvenskan matches achieved the result line four wins, two draws, four losses and 1.4 points on average per game.
In the middle of the table with the cut
The result throughout the season would have given him an intermediate position.
That’s the only thing I know for sure.
Veteran Bjärsmyr, who received the starting elves from Nilsson during the final sprint, doesn’t want to criticize Nilsson’s representative Poya Asbaghi, but states:
– The role has given us stability. He has focused more on the work of the defense and if you defend well, you also have opportunities up front.
– You always need a strong defense, no matter where you are at the table. A lot of people think they earn gold by scoring goals in the future, but that doesn’t work. Malmö has probably had the best defensive game, says Bjärsmyr.
How will IFK Gothenburg progress in terms of play in 2021?
– It is others who decide, but I think you should build on the foundations that we laid, especially in the last three games, where it is about doing everything well in the defensive game, above all.
– I am not saying that we should be on the defensive, but you should never forget what is most important, says Bjärsmyr.
Hope for Berg
Offensively in 2020, IFK Gothenburg’s weakness has been the lack of forwards, and that Bjärsmyr with two Allsvenskan goals hit his personal best of the 2007 golden year.
Against Östersund, he celebrated his 4-0 goal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal gesture.
– It must be because I got the step right …
What do you think about the chances of your close friend Marcus Berg returning to IFK Gothenburg this summer?
– There are different things that must be true and correct. I don’t know, but I hope those possibilities are great.
When Berg in June extended the deal with Russia’s Krasnodar for one more year, the national team forward told Sportbladet about moving to Sweden in the summer of 2021:
– Leans strongly towards him. Then IFK Gothenburg must take care of its own planning,
The economy determines investment
Bjärsmyr’s contract with IFK Gothenburg expires last December.
– I know how football is. I’ll be playing next year, that’s the only thing I know for sure. I have been at Blåvitt for many years and I really enjoy it. He would probably do that next year as well if that happens, says the midfielder.
Sporting director Pontus Farnerud tells GP:
– Now the big work starts before 2021. Now it will be more concrete and hopefully a little easier to relate to things. So a lot is a budget issue and there are things that need to be in place there.
