The burning building is 250 meters long and consists of several assembled parts, where there is no activity.

– It’s a big fire and much of the building is on fire, Johan Ytterberg, internal commander of the rescue service, told TT overnight.

So the focus was mainly to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings, which was hampered by strong sparks. During the night, the rescue service has received help from the Coast Guard in the fire fighting.

– We have asked them to come help because they have good water cannons that are good against sparks. We have also asked Preemraff for help, they also have water cannons.

Just before seven in the morning on Thursday, it is still burning, but the situation is somewhat calmer.

– We have closed part of the staff, now we have around 15 in the place. We don’t see any risk of spreading into adjacent buildings, says Johan Ytterberg.

Expect the rescue service to continue working on the site for most of the day.

– There is damage to most of the property, he says.

There is no information that anyone was injured in connection with the fire.

– No, it is a former industrial premises and there will be no operations there now and we have no information that anyone is there, says Johan Ytterberg.

It is not yet clear how the fire started. Police have launched a preliminary investigation into the fire and will block the site for a technical investigation when the rescue service is completed.
