Biden vows retaliation after hacker attack
The president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, has spoken in blunt terms on the massive attack by hackers against the United States. “When I find out who is behind this, I can promise that we will respond in kind,” he says.

The message came in connection with a Christmas weekend greeting to the American people.
– We cannot let an attack like this go unnoticed. That means we have to get to the bottom of who is behind the attack so we can hold them accountable, Biden said.
Several representatives of the US government have pointed to Russia as the culprit for the attack. The incoming president did not comment on this.
The extent is not yet known, but a large number of US authorities, ministries and private companies were affected by the attack, which Biden describes as “a serious threat to national security.”
The country’s current president, Donald Trump, for his part, has played down the attack, which he said is under control, an opinion that Joe Biden does not seem to share.
– I don’t see evidence to suggest it’s under control. The president hasn’t even identified who is behind this yet, Biden said.
