Sometimes I had to pinch my arm. Not to keep me awake, but to believe my eyes and ears as I listened to the chaos called debate.
It was an equally sad and terrifying experience to realize that one of these two men will lead the world superpower for the next four years.
No one won the debate, but Trump lost it.
Most frightening of all was hearing President Donald Trump’s response to the latest question of whether the candidates were prepared to urge their supporters to refrain from post-election disputes while the votes were being counted.
Trump’s response was to urge his supporters to go to the polls “to see that everything works out.”
No other sitting US president has questioned the integrity of the electoral process in this way, that the election should be rigged. When Trump in a live debate in front of millions of Americans already claims in advance that the elections are cheating, it is as scary as it is sensational. He more or less urged his followers to fight.
Biden did what all previous presidential candidates did. He promised to accept the result, regardless of the result.

It is clear that Trump has already concluded that he will lose on November 3. As an authoritarian leader, he tries to find ways to hold on to power by stating beforehand that the elections are rigged. You just can’t accept the idea of losing.
Has any former president of the United States done more to undermine democracy?
It was clear from the start that the president’s tactic was to constantly interrupt Joe Biden with insults every time he had to answer a question.
Unfortunately, Biden fell into Trump’s trap by responding in kind. Although there are certainly those who think he stood up to Trump.
Boxing fight
For a long time it was impossible to hear what the candidates had to say. Interrogator Chris Wallace made repeated attempts to get the two gentlemen to abide by the rules of debate, but, apart from brief moments, to no avail.
This was not a debate. It was a boxing match.
Donald Trump was arguably the worst, but Joe Biden was far from innocent. At one point he called Trump a “clown,” at another he asked him to shut up.
On two occasions, the moderator addressed the president directly with a call to respect the rules of the debate that he himself had agreed to beforehand, but Trump continued to interrupt.
The debate may not have made anyone wiser about the position of the two candidates on political issues. They spent more time insulting each other.
But they did tell us a few things.
Donald Trump does not have a health insurance plan that can replace Obamacare, which he wants to abolish.
The president goes on to state that a vaccine will be ready for use in a few weeks, although his own experts say it will likely take at least until the summer before it becomes publicly available.
Trump could not credibly respond to reports that he only paid $ 750 in federal income taxes for 2016 and 2017.
China blamed
The president had the opportunity to say something comforting to the families of the more than 200,000 Americans who died in covid-19. But he showed no empathy at all, but went on to claim that his administration did a fantastic job and blamed everything on China.
Joe Biden declined to answer the question of whether Democrats intend to increase the number of justices on the Supreme Court if he wins the election in a bid to regain the majority in HD.
He was careful to take the words “law and order” in his mouth.
The former vice president did not have a debate on disasters. He staggered and sputtered a few times, but overall he didn’t come across as “Sleepy Joe,” as Trump often calls him.
But this pick is very little about Joe Biden. It’s more of a referendum on how Donald Trump conducted himself during his first four years in the White House.
But his debating effort, I don’t think Trump has succeeded in attracting new groups of voters. On the other hand, your top voters are guaranteed to think you got it right. That’s the way Trump hopes he can win, by getting many of his own supporters to vote.
The question now is what will happen to the two remaining debates. Will Joe Biden think it’s worth the effort to line up with them?
