– You will see the first government elections on Tuesday, says Ron Klain in an interview with the This Week program on ABC television.
Klain doesn’t want to say which ministerial posts will be published first, or mention any names, but everyone must wait until Biden himself clears it on Tuesday.
Despite all the legal twists and turns that Republican Trump has introduced, the plan is for Democrat Biden to take office as the 46th president of the United States on January 20.
Elected Minister of Finance
Biden said last week that he will form a government that reflects the diversity that exists in the country and within his own party.
He also said that he already has the name ready for the position of Minister of Finance.
Speculation about who will take over the Finance Ministry includes Janet Yellen, Sarah Bloom Raskin and Lael Brainard, among others, who have held or are holding senior positions at the country’s central bank (Fed).
Trump continues to stubbornly claim election fraud and yet to present evidence. He is challenging the election results through court proceedings and pressuring party comrades in several of the states that he lost in the November 3 elections.
“It is corrosive”
Ron Klain says the president has rejected democracy and makes highly problematic and baseless allegations that have so far been rejected in 34 constituencies.
– It is corrosive, it is harmful, but. . It will not change the outcome of what is happening here at 12 noon on January 20: Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States, Klain says.
He also says that the installation ceremony in Washington will be smaller than the traditional one to prevent people from getting infected.
– For obvious reasons, it will not be the same type of installation that we had before.
– We just want to try to find a way to make it as safe as possible, Klain continues.
