Trudeau said the neighbors will work together to fight COVID, but also to work with the United States on other global political issues.

After the mutual public honors, the leaders talked behind closed doors for two hours. The agenda included the economy of North America, the Arctic, and developments in Venezuela and Myanmar.
When the meeting ended, Biden announced that the United States and Canada at the ministerial level will work together to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and, among other things, coordinate countries’ policies in this area. The work for the United States is led by climate envoy John Kerry and, on the Canadian side, by Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson.
