Several drivers testify that fetuses, urns, and blood were driven along with food in Best cars.

The company says it has a strong focus on the issue and that progress has been made.

“Among other things, fetal coffins are no longer found in transports,” writes Hanna Radoncic, marketing manager, in an email.

Five drivers who drove for the Best transport have recounted how delicate deliveries (caskets and fetal urns) have been packaged along with food bags and fruit baskets.

Aftonbladet / 200 seconds has sought out Best CEO Niklas Knight for a phone interview. In the end, we had to email our questions. Hanna Radoncic, Marketing Manager, responded.

– Consumer deliveries should not be transported with this type of sanitary deliveries. These are difficult and important questions. Therefore, we have routines that must be followed to ensure that fresh food or produce is not combined with strong medications or, for example, medical samples.

– We have also had a dialogue with the region on the question of whether certain medical transports, which can be difficult, should be reserved by the client as priority direct transports. Progress has been made and we have a strong focus on the issue. Among other things, fetal coffins no longer appear in transports. Safety and integrity are and must be important in all transportation.

A driver says he had a fetal coffin and a food delivery in the same car and recounts how terrible it feels. The driver says: Imagine if the parents knew. what do you think about it?

– It sounds terrible and I understand the driver felt that way too. Now I don’t know when this should have happened, but we have routines and a set of rules that prevent this from happening. We have also had a dialogue with the region on the question of whether the client should book certain health transports, which can be difficult, as direct priority transports. Progress has been made and we have a strong focus on the issue. Among other things, fetal coffins no longer appear in transports.
Consumer deliveries should not be transported with this type of healthcare delivery.

Is there a reason to mix this type of item?
– No, we have routines that must be followed to ensure that fresh food or products are not combined with strong medications or, for example, medical samples or special transport from healthcare. Therefore, consumer deliveries should not go hand in hand with healthcare deliveries.

How do you proceed with this information?

– We will monitor the information and maintain a dialogue with our client. Safety and integrity are and must be important in all transportation, it is important to us, the drivers and our customers.
For more information on connected transportation to the region and healthcare and regulations, we turned to Medicarrier.

On Thursday, Best sent out a press release in which they write that they are taking a series of actions following a 200-second review that revealed lousy wages and fines for subcontractors.

“The company has launched an external investigation to identify deficiencies and now a number of additional measures are also being taken to ensure fair conditions at all levels. Best Transport intends to be able to introduce requirements for collective agreements for all carriers, all fines are paused until further notice and a review of the compensation model will also take place, ”writes Best.

Medicarrier: We are investigating

Annika Berthold is Managing Director of Medicarrier, the transport company for the Stockholm region, which has an agreement with Best.

She has declined a telephone interview and provides written responses instead.

– The transport of coffins with fetuses is not included in our transport services. There have been such isolated cases until a few years ago, but it no longer happens. If there is information that this has happened anyway, it is not acceptable. We will ensure it together with Best Transport and our clients. If you can give us more information, we gratefully accept it.

– We transport urns for the Cemetery Administration, Stockholm City. It is the Cemetery Administration that decides how they want the ballot boxes to be transported. Best Transport ensures that the transport is carried out in accordance with current regulations. Our clients (for example, care operations in the Stockholm region) have the responsibility of the client and decide what type of transport is suitable. The customer is responsible for ensuring that there is a properly completed goods declaration for dangerous goods. If it does not exist, the carrier / driver should not bring the merchandise. Best Transport ensures that the transport is carried out in accordance with current regulations. Joint loading can be done if regulations allow it. We require compliance with the MSB regulations on the transport of dangerous goods ADR-S and GDP (Good Distribution Practices).

What do you do now that you have realized this?

– We investigate based on the signals we have received, including through the media. We gratefully accept more information on the situations that drivers have told you about.
