Then it was RB Leipzig who played 0-0 in the Bundesliga, and now, after 22 consecutive Bayern wins after 90 minutes plus overtime, it has happened again.
When English referee Anthony Taylor missed full time in the Hungarian Super Cup final, Europa League winner Sevilla had played 1-1 with Champions League winners Bayern Munich.
Despite this, it was again the red machine that drew the longest straw.
After Lucas Ocampos gave Sevilla the lead on penalties in the 13th minute, German star Leon Goretzka leveled ten minutes before half-time. The game then went into extra time, where unaccustomed striker Javi Martínez took advantage of a weak return from Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou and nodded at 2-1 in the 104th minute.
