Bayern Munich turned a loss into a 2-1 win after extra time when the team beat Sevilla in the Super Cup. Substitute Javi Martínez became the hero of the match with his winning goal in the 104th minute.
Sevilla took the lead in the match when the team received a penalty early in the first half. Bayern’s Alaba fouled Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic inside the box and referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty. Lucas Ocampos put the ball safely into the goal past Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Bayern Munich drew 1-1 after just over half an hour of play. A good pass from Robert Lewandowski found Leon Goretzska, who hit the ball into Sevilla’s goal.
In the second half, Bayern managed to get the ball into Sevilla’s goal twice, but both goals were rejected. Manuel Neuer made a good save for Bayern just at the end of regular playing time and the game went into extra time.

Bayern jumper Javi Martínez had only been on the pitch for five minutes when he nodded in the winning goal from a corner kick.
In the Budapest match, two strong teams faced each other, which played long games without losses. For Champions League winners Bayern Munich, this was already the 32nd straight match without a loss. The season has been a success with victories also in the Bundesliga and the German Soccer Cup.
