A private individual raised the alarm to police at 4 p.m. Sunday after finding an elderly man and woman dead at a property in Vansbro.
Police suspect that both have been murdered and are investigating the case as a double homicide. Almost a day after the alarm sounded, the police remain very secretive about the case.
– It is the circumstances of the place and all the question marks that make us suspect a murder. We are not developing further details at this time, says press spokesman Stefan Wickberg in the Bergslagen police region.
The house is remote and isolated. According to the Aftonbladet team at the scene, the police have cordoned off a larger area around the house, as well as a smaller area by a nearby bridge. A patrol with three policemen guards the barricades.
