Reports the news site Axios.
According to the Axios news site, President Trump is said to have told his close associates that he would declare himself the winner if, early on election night, he appears to be “leading.”
The president is said to have said he intends to get on the podium and do it.
The information comes from three different sources.
Axios also reports that Trump plans to use the strategy to later claim that mail-in votes are false.
Tim Murtaugh, chief of communications for Trump’s election campaign, does not want to confirm the information on the news site.
– These are just people trying to question Trump’s election victory. When he wins, he will say so, Murtaugh tells Axios.
President Donald Trump has previously criticized mail ballots. Many experts have claimed that he did this so that he could later blame the voice fraud.
