Örebro ranked seventh and edged out Hammarby in the Allsvenskan final round in goalkeeper Oscar Jansson’s final match for ÖSK.

Then it was broken for Örebro’s coach, Axel Kjäll.

– There are so many emotions. It can be nice to show that you are human too. Soccer is about emotions.

Oscar Jansson has been one of the most important players in Örebro and one of the best goalkeepers in the Allsvenskan.

However, when the final signal reached Behrn Arena on Sunday, the final signal for Oscar Jansson’s ÖSK action was also broadcast. This is because the goalkeeper has previously announced that he will take on new challenges after his current contract expires.

“Fantastic goalkeeper and player”

When Örebro’s coach Axel Kjäll reached for the Dplay interview microphone after the 2-1 win against Hammarby, he was notably surprised.

– Seventh place is our second best place since I became a coach at Örebro. I don’t think there is any team that has scored more points than ÖSK in the last 1-12 games.

And probably no player has been more important to that suite than Oscar Jansson.

– I had given Oscar a big hug and they called me to the interview. It was very emotional and you have a microphone on your face.

The result: a crying Kjäll in the television interview.

– We started a journey together in 2013. It has been a shitty journey. The club has progressed step by step. For me, he is not only the best goalkeeper in the Allsvenskan, but also a friend and colleague. We have had many setbacks, but also successes. It’s special with some players, says a remarkably excited coach.

“We will take it tomorrow”

When Erik Björndahl finally nodded at 2-1 at the end, it meant Örebro passed Hammarby at the Allsvenskan final table to seventh place.

That (Björndahl’s goal) sums up this season. It was good that he managed to score that goal. We have been 24-25 players, a great technical team that has given ÖSK one of the best locations in the 2010s, says Kjäll.

Kjäll and the coaching team also have an outgoing agreement, but hope to remain at the club. Also CEO Simon Åström.

– There are many agreements that expire. So all emotions come at once. If I had done the interview two minutes later, there would have been a classic Axel Kjäll interview, objective and less emotional. There are so many emotions. It can be nice to show that you are human too. Soccer is about emotions.

Jansson: “Many emotions”

The strong emotions after the final signal were mutual.

– Of course there will be many emotions. My soul and all my energy have been here for eight years. Of course it is emotional. I’m ready. But of course it feels, says Oscar Jansson with teary eyes, who also takes the opportunity to pay tribute to his coach, Dplay.

– He’s been with me here for eight years. I have known him almost as much as my family for eight years. It’s probably not possible to say how much Axel means to me.
