Several weather stations broke their heat records for the month of November. At Hedeviken in Härjedalen, 12.2 degrees were measured, and at Värmland, Småland and Blekinge, assembly line records were broken.

The warmest of all was the Gladhammar station, where it was noted 18.4 degrees at 12.40. It’s a landing on the previous heat record, which was set at Ugerup at Scania in 1968.

The reason for the high heat is the gentle winds from the Atlantic.

– There is low pressure over the northern Norwegian Sea and it brings softer westerly winds over Sweden, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe, a meteorologist at SMHI.

Anyone who wants to enjoy you can take advantage of the heat this weekend.

– I do not think we will see more record temperatures, but in the south it will be up to 10-12 degrees, and in the north from just under zero to plus five, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe.

SMHI’s long-term forecast also shows that a mild climate awaits in the future.

– Nor in the long term is a real cold happening, according to what we can see now, says Ibrahim Al-Mausawe.
