A veritable autumn fever has swept through much of Sweden with rain and wind.
SMHI has issued rain warnings in Västerbotten and Norrbotten and winds in Bohuslän, Dalsland, Värmland and Örebro counties.
The windy and rainy weather is a holdover from tropical hurricane Zeta that swept through Mexico and the southeastern United States last week.
Very windy
SVT meteorologist Nils Holmqvist says that it is common for hurricanes to weaken when stopped on land, but can live with normal low pressures as they enter the west wind belt.
– They can be stronger than normal low pressures, a bit naughtier weather. It’s windy across the country, almost too much to have an umbrella, he says.
Due to strong winds, all train traffic between Uddevalla and Strömstad has been canceled. During Monday morning, parts of the E6 in Mölndal were also flooded, writes SVT Väst.
Decreases tonight
It will also blow very hard in the mountains of Lapland where large amounts of snow or wet snow can fall.
Windy and rainy weather lasts on Monday, but weakens overnight and then subsides.
