Astrid Lindgren’s world is at risk of bankruptcy

Sunday June 28 was the last day the park was open. A couple of days earlier, the roughly 500 employees were informed that the entire season had been canceled.

It was after a message from the police authority that the park was not allowed to perform two performances at the same time with 50 spectators at each location that the amusement park decided to close. Then I’d count like 100 people and break coronary restrictions.

Difficult situation if next season is canceled

The decision led to losses of around SEK 120 million and several layoffs.

Astrid Lindgren’s world has appealed the police decision to the administrative court.

– We are working full time to be able to start the business next year and we have made an appeal to receive a message before the turn of the year, says Joacim Johansson to TT.

The fact that the situation is urgent now is due to the fact that preparations for the next season must start early. Actors must be recruited and all theatrical performances must be rehearsed.

– The money is sufficient until 2021, but if we cannot open then the threat of bankruptcy is imminent. No company can survive for several years without operations.
