In mid-April 2020, a famous Swedish artist was kidnapped. They beat him, threatened him with a pistol and stole, among other things, his Rolex watch.
The perpetrators released images of the incident that became widespread on the Internet.
For more than a month, another famous artist has been detained in his absence, suspected of having hired people to carry out the kidnapping.
Many millions of concerts
The two artists have achieved great success in recent years, with many millions of concerts on Spotify.
At 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, the suspect was arrested in central Stockholm.
– It is true that a person has been arrested on suspicion of seal for kidnapping, says Anna Stråth, prosecutor of the Södertörn prosecutor’s room.
The now-arrested artist has prior connections to one of Stockholm’s most famous criminal networks. Aftonbladet has sought out his attorney, who has no comment to make.
Eleven are in custody
Aftonbladet wrote in September that three people from the Vårby network were arrested on suspicion of carrying out the kidnapping of the well-known artist.
Since then, the research has grown significantly. Even before the well-known artist was arrested, eleven people were arrested for their part in the kidnapping.
– Most of them belong to the Vårbyn network, but there is also a person who belongs to a network in Västerort, and a few more who are from the Dalen network, says chamber prosecutor Anna Stråth.
The artist who was abducted did not want to participate in the investigation, according to information from Aftonbladet.
After the images of the brutal crime were released, he shared a movie with his followers, in which he said that he was fine and that “anyone can be kidnapped.”
