Arrested with iron pipes and batons – now released

The seven people who were detained on suspicion of preparation for aggravated assault were released at 6 p.m. Sunday, after being questioned and notified on suspicion.

– The arrests have been lifted because there is no reason to continue the detention. They are still suspects, says Maximilian Berg Molin.

Four men and three women were arrested in the attack

The criminal suspicions against the people, four men and three women, still refer to preparation for aggravated assault.

Do they deny the crime?

– I cannot comment on that, says Maximilian Berg Molin.

At 12 o’clock on Saturday, police stopped two cars at Huvudstaleden in Solna.

Two SPT buses, which stand for “special police tactics” and are armored police vehicles used in disturbances and major operations, among other things, were used during the intervention where the seven people were arrested.

I can’t comment on any connection to Paludan

In the cars, the police must have secured batons, pepper spray, a baseball bat, and even iron pipes.

Danish party Tight course leader Rasmus Paludan had applied for a demonstration permit to burn the Koran at five locations in Stockholm on Saturday, which did not happen.

Do you suspect that there is any connection between these criminal suspicions and the planned burning of the Quran?

-I can’t comment on that either, says Maximilian Berg Molin.
