The person who has been detained on suspicion of overt protection of a criminal in connection with the fatal shooting of a twelve-year-old girl in Botkyrka has been called for the arrest.
The man was arrested Tuesday in the Stockholm area after being detained in his absence. His arrest was requested on Thursday.
The twelve-year-old girl died after being shot at a Norsborg gas station in Botkyrka, south of Stockholm, on the night of 2 August. Police previously determined that the girl was not the target of the shots, but have not said to whom or what they were intended for.
The police have conducted almost 500 interrogations in connection with the investigation.
“We are very hopeful that what this man has to say could take the investigation another step forward,” said Åsa Hansson, group manager for serious crimes in the Stockholm police area south of TT in connection with the arrest.
The arrest hearing will take place at the Södertörn District Court at 2:00 p.m.
