Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pasjinian claims that he has evidence that Azerbaijani forces in Nagorno-Karabakh are receiving military support from Turkey.
“We have evidence,” Pasjinian told the French newspaper Le Figaro.
At least 130 people have died in recent days in the region, and French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have called on the parties to lay down their arms immediately.
Armenia has previously accused Turkey of sending thousands of Syrian rebels to the region to fight for the Azeri army. And on Monday, the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Ankara had sent at least 300 men from northern Syria.
Turkey has said it is ready to “do whatever it takes” to support its allies in Azerbaijan in the armed conflict over the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh region, which is controlled by Armenian separatists. But both Ankara and Baku deny accusations that Syrian rebels participated in the fighting.
