Protesters inside the Michigan State Congress building during the local time demonstration on Thursday.
Hundreds of people, including several armed, protested against coronary restrictions in Michigan in the building of the Congress of the State of EE. USA In Lansing.
Many of the participants entered the building’s entrance hall and demanded that they be admitted to the chamber. They were detained by the police, who, unlike most of the protesters, wore mouth guards.
“Right above me are men with guns and yelling at us,” tweeted state senator Dayna Polehanki, who also shared an image of four men where at least one of them carries what appears to be a firearm.
“Some of my colleagues who have bulletproof vests are wearing them,” he added.
The rally took place the day after a Michigan court ruled that coronary restrictions issued by Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer did not violate citizens’ constitutional rights.
“We do not agree that our inviolable rights are restricted or revoked for any reason, nor is the covid-19 pandemic,” the group behind the protest writes on its Facebook page.
On April 16, about 3,000 people participated in a similar protest in Lansing against state restrictions. Even then, several of them carried weapons.
President Donald Trump seemed to support them the next day when he tweeted “Liberate Michigan!”
